This is Daniel, now detained by the police at Eleweran for a controversial offence involving gun violence.

Daniel is 20 years old.

A gang of boys killed his friend.
He friend was 21 years old.

The killers were not apprehended by the police.

There was no justice.

He wept at his funeral.

He then made a promise at his friend’s grave that he will avenge his death.

He knew one of the boys that killed his friend.

Before I forget, I need to mention that Anthony Daniel is from Ibatefin, Ipokia Local Government Area, Ogun State.

One day, while in town, he saw one of the boys that killed his friend and recognised him immediately.

He then started the hunt.

He made findings with some people and got his mobile number.

He called him over the phone pretending to have a business for him.

He lured the killer of his dear friend, and another friend that came with him.

He fired them with his father’s dane him.

He avenged his friend’s death as promised.

Then Daniel was arrested by the police.

He is now detained at Eleweran.

He confessed to the criminal allegation, but insisted he did it for his friend.

He spoke to journalists.

Some Nigerians are saying he’s a good friend indeed.

Some are saying he’s a criminal.

But Daniel insists he has no regrets.
